Azurene: Divine Seduction, an excerpt

Azurene: Divine Seduction

(#futuristic #eroticromance #MF)

Azurene_DivineSeduction_cover_smPassion awaits on the Northern Shores far from the arid heat of her desert home. Lessons in pleasure from a water-dweller awaken a desire that is doomed from the beginning, because Elita Watende, youngest daughter of the High Lord of the Desert Borders, has been promised to the Lord Guardian of the Northern Shores. The match is tied to an important treaty for Elita’s rebellious tribe, and it is a union she cannot refuse.

More danger than she can possibly imagine awaits her beyond the desert borders. When the fiery-haired Elita rides one last time in her beloved homeland she is captured by the minions of Kadin, the Dark Underlord, whose plan is to use her as a pawn in a battle for control of the planet.

Elita believes all is lost, but before the dark minions can mark her as the property of the underlord, a fierce blue warrior from the Northern Shores descends upon the horde, freeing Elita from their clutches. He serves Lord Raoul Duarte, Lord Guardian of the Northern Shores, and Elita’s future match.

Yet he is so much more. For he is also an instructor in the arts of Amak, a mysterious man whom Elita knows only as Teacher who will school her in the knowledge of love for her union with another man…

Excerpt:

She saw the darkling nod and her body shifted as someone behind her began to tear at her clothing. In moments every piece of material was ripped away, exposing her to the night and to these devil’s minions.

He removed a glove, letting it drop to the ground, and she shuddered when he reached out to stroke a clawed hand over her breast. The touch was hard and cold as death.

“I’m going to take my time with you, pretty. You will grovel at my feet before we leave this place. You will beg for mercy. Our lord will see how well his new possession can be tamed for his pleasure.” He touched her chest, just above the full swell of her breasts, a spot that would be front and center visible for all to see. “Right here,” he said as he pressed the palm of his cold hand flat against her skin. There would be no way to hide such a horrible mark that would be seared into her skin forever.

Elita had never been so frightened in her life. But it wasn’t death that she feared, so much as living. A quick death in battle she understood. But looking at this creature standing before her, the smile on his face a parody of pleasure, she knew she would have an eternity in hell to regret her impetuous actions.

She had played on her father’s love and guilt in arranging a match she did not want, to get him to allow her to ride one last time in the desert. His guilt and her desire for freedom had overridden caution. And she would forever suffer for that act.

“You might as well relax, pretty, because there’s nothing you can do. Your pitiful guards all dead, no one to alarm your weak father to your disappearance until long after we have reached the labyrinth. And once inside, no one would dare to enter. Count your moments of freedom, for they are fast dripping away.”

She knew very well about the labyrinth to the cavernous kingdom. There was only one way to navigate it and that was through the benevolence of its underlord. To meld body and soul with the darkness, accept him as master.

She was to be used as a pawn, as a taunt to her father like a yellow banner to a ferocious minnocat. Her father could die because of her thoughtlessness.

She felt the tears threaten, but she refused to let this creature see her fear. She swallowed them down, forced the rage to burn inside her. It was the only way she could fight the pain she knew she was about to experience when that brand iron touched her flesh, searing and burning its way toward her soul.

The creature lifted the hand holding the iron, and she closed her eyes, then flashed them open again as screams rent the air. All around her were flashes of blue light swirling and arcing. The creature dropped the iron and turned to engage in the battle.

A tall man dressed in silver battle garb ran toward her, the thick blue plume on his helmet and the azure silk material emblazoned with an emblem she couldn’t quite make out marked him as the leader. He raised the sapphire blade of his sword and brought it down across the chains that imprisoned her legs. Sparks flew, his actions a blur.

He curled a strong arm around her waist as he chopped at the chains imprisoning her hands, and he steadied her as she dropped into his arms.

He slashed at the underworld wraiths as they made their way through the battle. As his blade ran through them, Elita was shocked to see them dissolve into black dust at his feet.

She wanted to yell, “Give me a sword, I can fight,” except she was still gagged and he had her imprisoned so tightly in his strong, muscled arm she couldn’t reach up to remove it without causing him to lose concentration. And she knew, as most women in this kingdom did not, that loss of concentration for even a second, could mean death.

The battle was over quickly and then the warrior picked her up and strode into the darkness beyond the scene of battle. She saw a pale shadow in the distance. As they drew closer she recognized the lines of a gigantic white battle steed. The warrior pulled a blue velvet cloak from the saddle and wrapped her in it. Then he removed the gag.

She worked her jaw to ease some of the ache. Before she could say a word, he had mounted and she was secured before him.

“Who are you?”

He looked down at her, the molten glitter of his strange eyes pinning her like a bird caught in the sites of a hunter.

“I serve at my lord Duarte’s command.”

She gasped. “You’re from the Northern Shore? But I thought you weren’t due for another week.”

She saw the shadow of a hard smile split the hard lines of his face. “My lord has heard of your headstrong ways. It was his intention to offer you protection in case something like this happened. It appears he was correct in his assumption.”

“I didn’t plan this,” she said mutinously.

“Nevertheless, it happened.”

“Where are you taking me?”

“To safety. To where the underlord would not dare trespass.”

Now that summer is officially over, and things are getting back to normal, somewhat, I’ve returned to the swing of my [relatively] normal routine. Of course, it helps that autumn is really my favorite time of year as well and I always feel energized and more creative, starting now. Summer, I’m just more like a slug, I guess. On to the subject of books and releases.

I have three stories, with covers designed, and that I’ve reformatted and uploaded and are currently ready for preorder on Amazon.

Destrie Two Rivers and Benedict Webster — an orphaned half-breed and a wealthy rancher’s son. Men who were boyhood best friends, turned secret lovers when they were eighteen. And then one nightmarish night they are discovered and Destrie almost died as a result.

Now, eight years later, just before Christmas, Destrie, an Army sniper, returns to Wyoming on leave to attend the funeral of his foster father. Both men have changed and the distance between them seems wider than the Continental Divide with no way to breach the chasm. Just as the creek where they first made love runs powerful and constant, Destrie’s and Benedict’s passion for each other still burns undeniably deep and everlasting. Re-igniting their unquenchable desire could prove fatal.

Until the heavy guilt and shocking secrets of the past are revealed, will either of these men ever fine their way home?

Sidra’s Song

sidrassongcoverOn Argadia, rebellion has turned into bloody civil war. Sidra Venus is the Songbird of Argadia…and an assassin. Her patron is a powerful member of the Tribunal—Commander Clorial Zydon. Two of her brothers serve as Elite Enforcers. Sidra is engaged to First Captain Lance Osei, the head of Commander Zydon’s private guard. What no one knows, however, not even her intended, is that she has secretly aligned herself with the rebel faction on Argadia.

The renowned Songbird is the only one who can get close enough to Zydon to complete the mission. And even if it means her death, she’s determined to do it. Sidra lives a life teeming with secrets, lies, and blackmail. She’s in love with Lance Osei, but she can’t afford to let it color her decision to do what she can to save the people of Argadia…as well as the people she loves and must protect. She dares trust no one with her secret—especially the man she loves.

Captain Lancelot Osei believes in honor, loyalty…and love. His life is turned upside down when he discovers the world he thought he lived in, and the people he trusted, have all lied to him. Lance will make hard choices that lead to consequences not only for Sidra’s acts, but his own, when he saves her from certain death at the hands of his own men. Guilt-ridden and torn, Lance questions everything he thought he believed in, including his love for the female he would give his life to save…

EXCERPT

Sidra stood with her back to him, speaking with an attaché to Commander Zydon, whom he recognized. There was a flush of hot color burning her cheeks and the attaché looked angry. The man about-faced and strode away. Lance walked up behind her and clasped her arm, whirling her around. His khout rode hard against the press of his cream-colored dress trousers, and he longed to have her back in her apartments and gloriously naked on her silken sheets.

He pushed her against the wall and claimed her lips before she could utter a sound. She tasted of spice and heat, sprinkled with sweet honey. At first she struggled and then he felt her soften, her arms wrapped around his neck, drawing him closer. He sank his tongue deep into her mouth savoring her taste, and then he lifted his head to look down at her flushed face, her eyes now heavy with passion.

He smiled. “I came back to wish you luck.”

A hint of a smile curled the corners of her mouth and he dropped forward to possess her lips once again. There would never be enough time with her. He felt the teasing pressure of her small hand against the cloth of his formal dress pants and groaned at the touch.

He broke the kiss and leaned his head against the wall. “I can never get enough of you, Sidra.” Her hand brushed lightly over the cloth, and Lance shuddered. He dropped closer, his body pinioning her lush frame against the wall, her hand caught between them, pushed against his arousal, driving him crazy.

“I can’t wait till these formalities are over and I have you naked and in bed once again,” he said. Her fingers moved, just a quiver of understanding.

“And what will you do when you get me there, captain?” Her voice flirted over his senses.

“I think I will pleasure you slowly. I will put my…cock…inside you and fill you with my presence.”

Her whole body shuddered. “I-I think you’re learning the Earth language very quickly.”

“Does that please you?” Lance ground his pelvis against her and she curled her fingers around the needy thickness bulging prominently.

“I think, my…cunt…would be very honored to feel the presence of such a worthy….member filling her completely.”

“Mylonna, na nivia, if we don’t stop this now, I think we’re both going to be in trouble.” Quickly, he stepped away from her. He inhaled and then slowing released the breath.

There was something sad in Sidra’s eyes tonight and he wondered why.

“Is there something wrong?” he couldn’t help asking. Whatever it was, he would slay her dragons for her, no matter what it took. If anyone had hurt her—

She reached up to cup his cheek. “I love you, Lance. Don’t ever forget that. Whatever I have done, whatever I do, is because of that love. Please remember.”

Blurb:

#sciencefiction #eroticromance #futuristic #MF

Book One of the Argadia Rebellion Trilogy. Devon Andromeda, a Nanus-altered Argadian Enforcer of the First Level, is assigned the mission to hunt down and eliminate Eluria Zydon, a rebel leader, who also happens to be the daughter of an Elite Tribunal Commander. Enforcers are altered and trained as assassins who retain no memories, or humanoid emotions that would hamper their purpose. Aggression is the only emotion unblocked in an Enforcer, the Tribunal directs their existence.

Eluria Zydon’s life is filled with more than enough memories and emotions for both Devon and her. She lives with the guilt of past injustice and her life has been dedicated to finding the cure to set Devon and those like him free. It is a payment she prays will free her soul once and for all from her tormenting past.

Confrontation on the lifeless planet, Serdion, will change them both forever. An explosion delivers Devon into Eluria’s hands. An experimental drug opens the floodgates to Devon’s emotions…and his memory. The first emotion he faces, and must learn to control is desire. Eluria has been trained as a Twilight Companion and has the knowledge to help him harness his passions. Will he accept her help? Or is his only intent to complete his mission…her termination…

Excerpt:

For days she’d eluded him, trying to get to the secure cave she’d prepared without being discovered. There was no way she could capture him by herself. Kill him maybe—if she caught him unaware. Yet, she was so weary of the deaths. Each time she killed it was another mark on her soul. And there were so many already. She sought only to evade him. The point of the antidote was to save lives, not sacrifice more. Once she reached her sanctuary, he would be unable to detect her location as it was veined in plordium, a natural yet effective mask to any tracking devices the Tribunal might use. Eluria stepped out from beneath the overhang and squinted up at the sky. The firestorm had abated. She scanned the desolate, rocky area around her, hand poised in readiness above the weapon strapped at her
hip.

Serdion had once been the home of a benevolent, thriving community. It had been destroyed because word spread that Serdion insurgents planned to overthrow Argadia. But it had been a ruse. Once it was a beautiful planet, rich, lush, teeming with life. Until it was discovered it contained several rich deposits of Talagite. The indigo colored, glowing nuggets were considered priceless by the greedy and powerful on Argadia. A very lucrative deal had been struck with certain members of the Tribunal, and the Enforcers were sent out to secure the planet and subdue its supposed insurgents. It was such a surprise when exploring the planet, a team accidentally discovered the
Talagite. Once the Talagite had been mined, the planet was stripped, and all life destroyed on Serdion. All done in the name of the Tribunal for some pretty baubles and more power. Such tragedy, pain, and suffering from what had once been a welcoming, indulgent society. All based on lies. The Tribunal must be stopped, whatever the price.
Eluria began to gather her things quickly and moved toward her velocitor. She had to get to the cave.

A shadow moved between her and her destination, halting her abruptly, heart thudding in her chest. She dropped what she was carrying and reached for her weapon.

“Rebel Leader Eluria Zydon, dishonored daughter of High Commander Clorial Zydon of Argadia, your end has arrived. Prepare.”

She stayed her hand as she eyed the weapon aimed at her. Her gaze slowly rose and her eyes widened in disbelief. “Devon Andromeda,” she rasped out. Shock pulsed through her. Standing before her was her nemesis. The man she’d sacrificed everything to save. Merciful Symion, was this how it would end? Would Guardian truly be so cruel?

She saw a brief, halting flicker of what looked like surprise in his merciless blood red gaze when she’d uttered his name. Then the fire banked and surged. She knew by the look of him, there was no hope, there would be no salvation. He didn’t recognize her. How could he, when he had no memory of the Before? She carried no weapon powerful enough to stop him, nor was she fast enough. He was in Killing Frenzy. She knew his
reputation. Impotently, she watched as his finger tightened on the deadly weapon.

She knew defeat. Even if she had a worthy weapon, this was the one Enforcer she could never destroy. If her death meant he would live, so it must be.

“It is good you recognize the means of your end, Female. May your journey to Haydon be less painful, knowing the means by which you pass. You have been a worthy opponent.”

Closing her eyes, she raised both hands, curled them into fists and placed them over her heart. Delivering herself freely to death, she whispered the chant of acceptance. “Guardian, into your hands I release my light. I embrace my destiny. Your justice will endure.

What are you reading this Christmas?

Leo Southworth was named after a brilliant constellation in the sky. Maybe that’s why his entire life he’d been fascinated by things beyond his reach. And why his teachers had always told him to get his head out of the clouds.

Maybe he liked rope bondage because it kept him tied to the earth. And maybe he’d enjoyed the suspension because sometimes, when he was blindfolded, gagged, and his ears plugged—all sounds beyond his inner core stifled—it felt like he was floating free in space. Right up there with the stars.

Until the night he fell to earth and his hip was shattered. All his dreams sort of flew out the window that night and he was still trying to find a way to get them back. Leo gazed up at the night sky. It was a clear night and the stars shone brightly.

Blip.

He turned to look at the laptop screen.

Can you talk?

Leo limped over to the desk and eased down in the chair. He rested his cane against the desk, within reach.

I’m here, he typed in and hit return.

Up popped Sirras’s avatar. God, Leo loved that image. But this was more than a simple avatar…hot burnt orange, flames licking at the edges, a blend of flame and male body, indistinct face, broad shoulders, each muscle defined by brilliant fire. The image undulated on the screen. Moving pictures. The head was in profile, a flirt of appeal, eyes hooded. And then the eyes opened to look directly at Leo.

“Want to play?” the deep voice asked.

Eluria’s Enforcer #Free this weekend

eluriasenforcer_cover_smThis weekend I released the third, and final story in “the Argadian Heart” trilogy, “Ravager’s Redemption.” Thus, through Monday, October 10th, I’m giving away the first in the series, “Eluria’s Enforcer” for #free on Amazon.

An excerpt from Eluria’s Enforcer

She’d hesitated long enough. It was time to engage the restraints. Again, she leaned back on her heels. With his eyes closed, his face was in repose, softened, reminding her of the youth she’d once known. They were strong features, but not hard, a square jaw, and high, defined cheekbones.

Unable to resist, she reached up, and touched his hair. It was thick and silky beneath her fingertips. The texture much as she remembered. But the color had changed. It was now pure white, a consequence of the Nanus process. Thus, it was a trademark of every Enforcer. When she’d known him, hishad had been black as a night sky without moon.

His body was firm, muscled, sculpted. She was unable to resist and ran her hand along his shoulder, down the contours of his smooth, hard chest. Life, warm and pulsing, thrummed beneath her fingertips. So beautiful. She closed her eyes in painful remembrance as the Before washed over her.

“Come watch this old Earth film I bought on the black market today,” Devon urged her, a grin on his lips. There was an eager light in his beautiful turquoise eyes. He reached for her hand and pulled her into the viewing room, urging her down onto the long comfortable lounging chair. She curled up beneath his arm as they watched the science fiction movie from long ago.

He looked down and grinned. “I’m glad you came over, Eluria. I’ve missed you. You’ll be at the Celebration tomorrow, won’t you?”

“Yes, I’ll be there. You know I wouldn’t miss it,” she responded, tucking her head against his shoulder, inhaling his warm, musky scent. She loved spending time with him. Wanted the moment to go on forever.

How could she have known that within the space of a sun’s rising he would be torn from her life? The spirits of Before haunted her often. When he’d been taken away, her heart had broken knowing she’d never see him again. Even if she did, he wouldn’t remember her. But when she’d found out the truth, her whole life had shattered. That’s when it had become imperative to find the antidote and set him free.

The antidote! She raced out to the velocitor and retrieved the small box containing the vials, handling it reverently. She carried it back inside.

Devon was the reason she was here now. She looked at him and then down at the small box. She had a decision to make. Was this why Guardian had brought them together on this planet? Did she dare attempt to use it on him now? Did she really have any other choice?

No. It would either work or it wouldn’t. It was apparent someone wanted them both dead. If he killed her and went back, they would probably find a way to kill him anyway. If she left him the way he was, he would try to destroy her, complete his mission. And he would succeed because she couldn’t kill him. Either way they were both dead.

She wanted Devon whole again. She needed to give him back his life. Guilty knowledge from Before washed over her. And if it did work, there was a chance it would work on others and the rebellion could be successful.

Placing the box on the lid of a trunk, she opened it, removed a syringe and one of the clear vials marked Nanus-X. She remembered the instructions. First, she must inject him with Nanus-X. If all went well, twenty-four hours later, she must inject him with the neutralizer, Nanus-Z.

After filling the syringe, she walked back to him. Eluria’s hands shook at the enormity of what she was about to do. She chanted to the protection goddess.

“Symion, if ever I needed your guiding hand, I need it now. Don’t let me make a mistake. Please let it work.” Slowly, she lowered her hand with the filled syringe to Devon’s hip.

This weekend download it #free on Amazon.

A Contrast of Natures

I wrote a flash fiction prequel to this story titled “Wild Thing.” It can be found on my website at www.adriannadane.com, on the excerpt page for Captivity. One thing led to another. And eventually, “Captivity,” was born.

An excerpt from Captivity.

Orion Birdwalker before his capture

Freedom. How did one describe it exactly? For Orion Birdwalker it had become an untouchable ache buried inside him, something he had once taken for granted and yearned for still. It was there, in a part of his soul—a wild thing, spirit caged—like his body.

Once a savage creature of the wild, without a name, without a home. Untamed, untutored. Uncivilized.

Beautiful women had gifted him with presents so that he would breed with them. He’d had no desire for civilization or its rules. His needs had been simple. He’d nested in the thick jungle that surrounded Bendar City, slept when he wanted, ate when he was hungry, and bred when he desired. Orphaned as a babe, he’d had no name—the ones who knew of his existence called him wild thing. There was no other on the planet exactly like him.

And that had been his downfall.

Lord Adolpho Serratin, high master of the Kalamadur Oasis compound located in the middle of the deadly black desert, was now Orion’s master, with the power of life and death over his slaves, his possessions. He also held the coveted position of Planet Mediator. He was a powerful man of untold wealth, with an army to secure his province. No one escaped Kalamadur—not without death as the consequence, in one way or the other. Either they were claimed by the black desert with its hidden traps and monsters, or excruciating death at the hands of Lord Serratin if they were tracked and recovered. One was simply slower and more painful than the other.

Through the year of Orion’s enslavement Serratin had not been as cruel a master as one of his power might otherwise enjoy. Orion had not been beaten within an inch of his life, nor did he bear scars of brutality on his body from his attempts to fight the shackling of his wings, and the piercings that came later.

Orion looked down at his sleek, bronzed body decorated in a manner pleasing to his lord…the chain swaying from the nipple rings, the piercing of his cock head, now adorned by a jeweled stud that perfectly matched the brilliant color of his master’s eyes. Even the engraved silver allonium bands with the words “Property of Lord Serratin” locked around his forearms and calves had become so much a part of who he now was.
